If you’ve been waiting to check out Fortnite, now may be a good time.
Fortnite developer Epic Games is currently hosting the first ever sale on the standard and deluxe editions of the game. The more expensive super deluxe and limited editions are not part of the sale, though.
This 25% off discount drops the standard edition to $30, and the deluxe edition to $45. The standard is the most basic option, and comes with seven bonus Pinata Packs (loot chests). The deluxe edition, on the other hand, includes 33 Pinata Packs, as well as a starter hero pack, and rare starter weapon pack.
This sale is also available on the Xbox Store, and the PlayStation Store. Though prices are a bit higher without Xbox Live Gold, or PlayStation Plus.
At launch, the game sold 500,00 copies from digital pre-orders alone. Fortnite is also available at retail, so the current figure is no doubt higher. Epic only recently revealed that the game has 1 million players.
You can find out more through the official site.
It’s worth pointing out that you’re buying a founder’s pack when you choose to pay for Fortnite now. The game is planned to go free-to-play in 2018, supported by microtransactions. On top of the bonuses you get from the various editions, you’re also getting early access.
In other Fortnite news, the game is getting its own 100-player Battle Royale game mode later this month. It’s still going to incorporate building and crafting, though.
