PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has set a new record.
At the time of this writing, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has over 1 million concurrent players on Steam. Or 1,028,275, to be exact.
That is over a million payers, worldwide, currently doing one thing or another in the game. Be it plotting an attack, camping in a corner somewhere, or simply AFK farming. Whatever it is, this is a new record for the game, breaking its previous all-time high.
Battlegrounds has now broken all-time high, concurrent player records of every game on Steam, except Dota 2. Dota 2’s highest ever peak brought in 1,291,328 players. This figure is well within the reach of PUBG, and it may pass it sooner rather than later.
No words can describe how unusual this is – for any game. Especially not an Early Access, kinda broken one with a single map and a handful of weapons that only came out in March. It was only recently that developer Bluehole announced selling over 10 million units.
Those playing the game will be happy to know that we’re finally getting a new patch. The patch adds a new weapon, the foggy weather condition, FPP leaderboards and more.
