Sony has released a system update for PlayStation 4, and no, it’s not the big one.
The latest PlayStation 4 system software update is now available, and according to the notes, downloading update 4.74 it will “improve system performance.”
Those were the only details provided, other than the fact it’s a 325MB download.
System software update 5.0 went into beta on PS4 in mid-August and introduces Family Accounts, friend management, new features for broadcast, notifications, messages and other additions.
When the update goes live, broadcasters using PS4 Pro will be able to stream in 1080p 60fps on Twitch.
Streamers who have created communities will also be able to link to live broadcasts on both PS4 and PS4 Pro. According to the beta notes, when a broadcast is linked, a community button will pop up on the “Live from PlayStation” spectator screen.
Viewers can then go directly to the community page in order to view or chat with others.
Once update 5.0 is released, we’ll let you know. In the meantime, download the small 4.74 update for stability purposes.
