Blizzard is hiring for an unannounced Overwatch project

An internship position for an Overwatch-related project has opened up at Blizzard.

The internship ad is looking for a Generalist Artist to work at the company in the summer of 2018. It’s aimed mostly at students, as it doesn’t sound like it would last longer than one summer.

For this particular project, Blizzard is seeking someone with “knowledge and understanding of the Overwatch universe.” The job will have them creating “a wide range of assets” to help bring the game to life.

It’s not clear – for obvious reasons – if this is an Overwatch off-shoot, such as a mobile game, or a new fully-fledged sequel. Perhaps a story campaign? Anything is possible, of course, but considering how long Blizzard takes to develop games, we may be waiting a while before we see what comes of it.

Blizzard recently started hiring for an unannounced shooter. The two could be related, but we hope they’re not. As much as we love Overwatch, it’d be great to see another original IP from Blizzard.
