Nioh: Complete Edition received a new PC patch earlier today.
This is Nioh’s second PC patch after launch. Koei Tecmo seems to be doing work on the PC port, which is always good to see. The first patch was released last Thursday.
Today’s patch, version 1.21.02, improves the Shadows performance when set to High Quality, and makes it so the online Matching Area setting respects the Unlimited choice and not limit it to players in your area.
The shadow fix in particular is good news, as I called out the setting being too much of a performance hog in the port report. The PC version still has a ways to go, but it’s far from unplayable.
See all the patch notes below:
- Fixed an issue in which changing the “Matching Area” in online settings to “Unlimited” would still result in being limited to your own area.
- Fixed an issue in which an error would occur while saving data if there was no C drive.
- Improved performance when the “Shadows” option is set to “High Quality” in the graphics settings.
If you’re just getting started in Nioh: Complete Edition, be sure to give our general tips a look. There’s a lot in there to wrap your head around, and it wouldn’t hurt to get to know it all before getting deeper into the game.
