The legendary Ho-oh can be caught in Pokemon Go right now, but only until December 12.
During last week’s Global Catch Challenge, Pokemon Go players were asked to catch three billion Pokemon to unlock Farfetch’d as a wild Pokemon around the world. They managed to do so, which is pretty cool. To celebrate, another great rare bird is being made available to capture.
Ho-oh, the gen two legendary – who was both the star of Pokemon Gold’s box art and a mysterious presence in the very first episode of the Pokemon anime – is now available in Raid Battles. You’ll only have a limited time to catch one, though – after December 12, Ho-oh will vanish back into the ether.
Thanks to all your hard work last week, Ho-Oh will appear in Raid Battles until 12/12! #PokemonGOtravel #GlobalCatchChallenge https://t.co/YfyBGwfTux pic.twitter.com/mdGoFByyQl

Earlier this month dataminers found Ho-oh’s 3D model in the game, so this doesn’t come as a huge surprise, but it’s good to have the definitive details…and to be able to go out and catch this thing.
Legendaries have been appearing for a while, but this is the first time we’ve been able to get our hands (and Pokeballs) on Ho-oh.
Time is limited, so make sure you get onto this before December 12 if you’re still trying to catch ’em all.
