As part of the ongoing relationship between Nintendo and Nvidia, Wii and Gamecube games will appear on the Nvidia Shield Store in China.

Available so far are Punch-Out!, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and New Super Mario Bros. Wii. This is the first time these games have been available in China, and are being provided under licence from Nintendo.

Nvidia partnered with Nintendo to provide hardware for the Switch – namely the Tegra processor – and hinted that more games would be coming from Nintendo’s back-catalogue soon.

“New Super Mario Bros. Wii, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Punch-out!! are remastered in 1080p and available on the China version of Nvidia Shield, released today,” Nvidia said in a press release.

“Shield owners in China will be able to download and play select Wii and Nintendo GameCube titles, with others coming soon – among them,Super Mario Galaxy.”

Nintendo games for the Nvidia Shield seem to exclusive to the Chinese version of the console, with Nvidia calling it, “a completely localised device, with local content, store, search and more”.

There’s been no word on whether this means ports of these games will appear soon on the Switch eShop, however.

In the full official trailer, other notable games shown to be coming to the Shield included Epic Games’ F2P MOBA Paragon (called Epic Paragon in China), Tekken 7, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
