A massive 50v50 game mode was announced for Fortnite Battle Royale at last night’s Game Awards.
That’s right – 100 players, two teams, one big scrap.
The new mode is available now and free for all players, but only around until December 17, 2017.
The hugely popular Fortnite passed 20 million players last month, with Epic Games releasing a state of development update just last week.
The update promised greater measures against team killing, better social features and improvement to UI and inventory management.
It also detailed a slew of work-in-progress graphical and mechanical improvements, which included the filling of empty map space, new shooting models to reduce random bullet spread, and complete remodels for characters, pickaxes and gliders.
The game’s latest 1.9.1 patch added support for 4K on the Xbox One X and, “due to overwhelming popular demand”, formalised what has quickly become one of Fortnite’s headline features: rocket surfing.
