Marvel vs Capcom Infinite will give PlayStation Plus subscribers a chance to play the game for free this weekend, while current owners can pick up some new characters.
The’Free Versus Mode Demo Weekend’ was announced on the US PlayStation Blog. From December 8, 8am PST through to December 11, 8am PST, you’ll be able to download the demo and play against other users online, testing out the various Capcom and Marvel characters included in the game.
They’ll be able to play against owners of the game, as well as anyone else who is also in on the demo. The demo will include a training mode, casual online play, and all 30 base characters in the game. The game is pretty fun, despite some missteps, so if you’re a fighting fan it’s worth a look.
Meanwhile, the first DLC pack for the game has also launched, meaning that you can grab Black Widow, Winter Soldier, and Venom now. These characters can either be purchased separately, or they’re included in the 2017 character pass. Regardless of how you get them, they all come with unique ‘premium’ costumes, so you can kit them out with unique looks.
Venom gets the Anti-Venom Costume, Black Widow can dress up as a Cosmonaut, and Winter Soldier gets a James Barnes costume, because sometimes, the more human side of a hero…is the real costume. Ooooh, deep.
Xbox One users will miss out on the free weekend, unfortunately, but if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber it’s worth a look.
