A beta for Metal Gear Survive will be held in January, and a look at the single-player campaign has been provided in a new video.
Along with news of a beta, Konami has released a gameplay walkthrough for those interested in the single-player portion of Metal Gear Survive.
The video introduces basic survival and gameplay mechanics while showing key action sequences.
Metal Gear Survive picks up from the final stages of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes. The player is pulled through a wormhole, and at the other end is a “dangerous world filled with biological threats and hostile environments.”
Here, they must try to find their way home while trying to survive against the deadly creatures inhabiting the area. Along with trying to keep from getting killed, players will need to explore and forage the environment for food, water and other resources.
In the Metal Gear Survive beta, players will be able to try out co-op mode where they will build, defend and fight alongside others online.
The beta will be available to download for PS4 and Xbox One and those who participate will be handed an in-game bonus redeemable when the full game is purchased.
Bonus items include a Fox Hound name plate, an accessory Metal Gear REX Head and accessory bandanna. The beta runs January 18-21.
Initially set for release this year, the game was delayed into 2018 back in June.
Metal Gear Survive will release on February 20 in North America and February 22 in Europe for PC on Steam, PS4 and Xbox One.
