Surprise, surprise another HUGE Kanye West gaffe. So check it...over the weekend Kanye was closing out The Big Chill Festival in the UK. Here's a pic of our little angel sporting some bling that is as modest as he.
Mid-way through his set, Kanye stopped the music to let loose a little crazypants rant, where he was trying to be sincere, I think. I got confused because he autotuned some of his heartfelt words...which doesn't really scream sincerity. That's when he compared himself to Hitler. Where's Keyboard Cat when you need him?
Here's what West said: “I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm (expletive) insane, like I'm Hitler." Insane, yes. One of history's most despicable, evil persons ever? Not sure if making Taylor Swift cry is really up there in the evil department.
Unfortunately, no one was there to interrupt HIM and Kanye continued: “One day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did.” Oh Kanye, you write and produce great rap music! That's it! And we all understand what you are trying to do! You're trying to create buzz for your new album with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne, which I'm sure is gonna be stellar despite the toilet-y sounding title.
Then Kanye went on to do a nice tribute to the late singer Amy Winehouse. But with Kanye it's always one step forward, two feet in his mouth back. “Thank you for protecting your artists that are still here. This is for McQueen, for Amy, for Michael and for all the media, you can lighten up on all your artists that are still here.” He is so self-serving, am I right? Looks like someone started realizing the backlash he was about to get for his Hitler remark!
So is Kanye like Hitler? Is he Kitler? Oh, actually that name's already been taken by this adorable kitten. Maybe Hanye?
I have to say, Kanye is more like a pussycat who thinks he's Hitler, than the actual Hitler, only a thousand times less adorable.
Here's a look at the speech, which is really long and all kinds of crazy. The best part is the audience booing him after the Hitler remark.
Maybe it makes sense that he sometimes gets confused, as illustrated in this classic video by comedy-folk duo Garfunkel & Oates.
What do you think? Is Kanye just an egotistical jerk who make great music? Or is he a misunderstood genius? Or both or something else? WHAT IS HE? Let us know what you think in the comments!
