Mojang video documentary discusses Scrolls, Minecraft’s “Cinderella story”

By Stephany Nunneley

A mini-documentary on Mojang Studios has been released, which focuses on the development on Scrolls, and how much pressure the studio feels due to the massive popularity of Minecraft.

In the making of video below, you can listen to Mojang co-founder Jakob Porser discuss Scrolls, and see how his team is going about creating something else to be known for instead of Minecraft.

“Honestly, I don’t think we’re ever going to make a game that’s going to be as good with so much positive feedback, as Minecraft did, because it’s not just a great game, it’s a Cinderella story,” said Porser. “Even if we do the world’s best game after Minecraft, it’s not going to be a Cinderella story.”

The video was shot by 2PlayerProductions before the legal troubles started with Zenimax, and it held off on releasing the documentary until the Scrolls copyright matter was settled.

Thanks to winning the interim injunction, Mojang can keep using the name ‘Scrolls’, until Zenimax appeals the court’s decision – thus the video can now be watched as well.

Thanks, GamesRadar.
