Harmonix has announced that it will be collaborating with several artists who have previously done videogame work, to bring new original music to the reboot of the rhythm action game.
In a press release sent to VG247, Harmonix confirmed that artists Jim Guthrie (Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, Indie Game: The Movie), Anamanaguchi (Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World), Danny Baranowsky (Super Meat Boy, Canabalt), C418 (Minecraft), Kasson Crooker (FreQuency, Amplitude, Symbion Project) and and Freezepop (FreQuency, Amplitude), will all produce original tracks for the game.
“We’re thrilled to be able to collaborate with these incredible artists who have proven themselves more than capable of delivering amazing tracks and setting the tone for some of our favourite games,” said Amplitude Creative Lead, Ryan Lesser. “Alongside the new original music our audio team is composing, we can’t wait to hear what they bring to Amplitude!”
This morning we learned that Harmonix is only able to bring the game to PS3 and PS4. The Kickstarter campaign is trucking along with four days to go, $368,396 out of the $775,000 goal has already been gathered, at the time of writing.
