The mysterious Spartan which is featured in the Halo: Guardians artwork will become more familiar to you once the episode series is released.
Said episodic series is being developed by Ridley Scott and it’s called Halo: Nightfall. It will air on Xbox One and is included in the Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
The Spartan’s name, as you recall from the trailer shown at Microsoft’s E3 presentation this week, is Agent Locke and this person will play a “a key role in Halo 5.”
“We’re using Halo Nightfall to basically tell his backstory and tell his origin story,” 343 Industries’ general manager and studio head Bonnie Ross told the site.
“You don’t have to watch this, but knowing this will kind of tee you up for all the new things that are going on in Halo 5: Guardians.”
Nightfall is currently in production with shooting just wrapped up in Ireland. Production has now moved to Iceland, and during San Diego ComicCon this year, more will revealed about the show and Halo 5.
“The goal there is to drop you right off at the doorstep of Halo 5: Guardians,” Ross said.
Halo 5: Guardians is out next year.
